Communications Specialist

Full-Time

Pay range: $47-50k/year based on experience + benefits

 

If you have strong public relations skills and the ability and desire to craft messaging and materials to reach broad audiences in support and advancement of social justice issues relating to domestic violence, this may be the perfect role for you. DAIS is seeking a multi‐talented communications professional to join our Development and Communications Team.  Our Communications Specialist raises awareness about our mission and our work in the community, is highly collaborative, and is able to share our story across various media formats, including print, digital, social media and video.

Crisis Intervention Advocate

Full-Time – 1 position available, 5 days/week (some weekend coverage required):
   ~3rd shift opening: 12am – 8am

 

Variable Part-Time – 1 position available, evening & weekend shifts, 10-19 hours/week


Pay range: $19-20/ hour + $0.75 shift differential for time 11pm-7am + benefits

 

Be an anchor during the storm.  Our Crisis Intervention Advocates often serve as the gateway to our services providing the first point of contact for many of our clients.  Your compassion and guidance will help support survivors, their friends, their families and other concerned community members as they begin their healing journey.  The first step is often the most difficult and you can ease that by reducing their isolation and letting them know they are not alone.  You will connect with our clients through our 24/7 helpline, in person as a walk-in client or as a referral through our law enforcement referral program.  Apply today and make a difference in the lives of survivors.

Security Operations Associate – Variable Part Time

Position requires flexibility to cover 8am-4pm & 4pm-12am, including weekdays, weekends & some holidays
Pay Range $16.50-17.50/hour depending on qualifications

 

Greet clients and residents while you monitor the safety and security of our emergency domestic violence shelter facility.  If you are able to remain calm in emergency situations and want to be part of a team committed to strengthen and empower the families using our services, this may be the position for you.  DAIS (Domestic Abuse Intervention Services) is seeking a Security Operations Associate to work variable part time hours.

Shelter Advocate – Variable Part Time

Current openings – overnights and weekends, primarily
Pay Range $19-20/hour depending on qualifications

 

Provide support and advocacy to victims of domestic violence and their children in our shelter while assisting shelter residents with daily living needs and providing general support and shelter coverage. Advocates work directly with our residents and their families by providing emotional support, building community, and connecting residents to resources.  Available shifts are primarily overnight and weekend hours in addition to weekday and holiday coverage as needed.

Youth Violence Prevention Advocate

Pay Range $19-20 + benefits

 

Are you an engaging speaker looking to make a difference in our community?  We are looking for our Youth Violence Prevention Advocate who will facilitate our primary prevention program, Men Encouraging Nonviolent Strength (MENS) Club with culturally diverse youth and work with a variety of groups throughout Dane County to tailor presentations and workshops that raise awareness around domestic violence issues. If you have experience facilitating and working with youth, effective public speaking skills, and experience planning and co-facilitating workshops, we would like to hear from you!
