DAIS Employment Opportunities

Custodian

Do you take pride in a job well done?  Enjoy a flexible, part‐time position helping to maintain the offices and residential shelter spaces for DAIS.  You will be responsible for the cleanliness, appearance, and functionality of our building and grounds as we all work to support those affected by domestic violence.  Hours available for first, second, or third shift. Some evenings and weekends required, based upon facility events. Position open until filled.

Housing First Program Coordinator

Play an integral role in planning and implementing new Housing First Initiatives at DAIS.  Under the guidance of the Crisis Intervention and Case Management Services Manager, the Housing First Program Coordinator collaborates with the Case Management Coordinator, the Shelter Program Manager, and the Case Management Team as needed, to assess housing needs for DAIS clients that stem from recent intimate partner violence issues and works to address those needs through both internal and external resources. The Housing First Program Coordinator cultivates and stewards relationships with external community housing providers and landlords and maintains up to date information for Case Managers and other DAIS staff to provide support and guidance about those resources.

As the Housing First Program at DAIS is part of a state-wide pilot program, the coordinator will also work as part of the Housing First Program Implementation Team at DAIS to develop new processes and discern opportunities for meaningful outcome data collection to measure the effectiveness of the program. The coordinator will also be one of the primary points of contact for the evaluation team of the larger state-wide program. The Housing First Program Coordinator demonstrates a commitment to the mission of DAIS and to the needs of clients, works in a fast-paced environment, and can multi-task and handle crisis appropriately. Legal Advocate

Become part of a vibrant team committed to the empowerment of those affected by domestic violence and advocating for social change through support, education, and outreach. DAIS is seeking a Legal Advocate to join our growing team.

The Legal Advocate provides services directly to victims of domestic violence in Dane County and acts as a Service Representative per WI§ 895.45 for

victims of domestic violence. The Legal Advocate’s direct service responsibilities include providing support, information, advocacy, and court accompaniment to victims of domestic violence including assistance with restraining orders, civil, criminal, and other court matters, and legal referrals. DAIS Legal Advocates are not lawyers and do not provide legal advice.

Security Operations Associate

Position requires flexibility to cover overnight, weekend and weekday/holiday hours

Shelter Advocate – Lead

Current openings are 1st shift (6am-2pm) and 2nd shift (2pm-10pm)

Provide comfort, support and resources for residents and their children in our emergency domestic violence shelter.  While assisting residents with their daily living needs and helping to connect them to resources in our community you will be part of the solution as they begin to rebuild their lives.  Will you be the primary contact person who helps to coordinate the needs within the shift and works to build a safe community based on respect within our shelter?  Current openings are 1st shift (6am-2pm) and 2nd shift (2pm-10pm).

Shelter Staff Coordinator

Are you the person to lead our team of Shelter Advocates?  In addition to providing direct services to our clients, our Shelter Staff Coordinator is responsible for providing supervision, support, leadership and guidance to our shelter staff and volunteers.  You will work closely with our Shelter Program Manager to develop and provide training to shelter staff as we continue to improve the ways in which we can best serve our clients.  If you can problem solve and remain calm in a crisis and are a positive, energetic and effective leader, we want to hear from you.
