Variable Part-time positions: Available shifts include evenings & weekends, 10-19 hours/week with occasional overnights & holidays
Regular Part-time (one position currently open): Monday – Friday, 32 hours a week + excellent benefits including generous paid time off, 401(k) with match, excellent health insurance benefits and much more.
Pay: $21.42 per hour; $2.50 per hour shift differential for hours worked between 11pm-7am
DAIS Crisis Intervention Advocates are of the first point of contact for many of our clients. Our Crisis Intervention Advocates assist victims and survivors, their friends, families, and other concerned community members impacted by domestic violence issues. Crisis Intervention Advocates provide crisis intervention, crisis counseling and support, personalized safety planning, internal referrals to other DAIS programs, and community resource referrals to individuals utilizing crisis intake services at DAIS, which include the 24/7 Help Line program (phone and text), walk-in clients, and our law enforcement referral program. Variable Part-time positions may work various hours and shifts as scheduled. Work is performed on-site at DAIS, and shifts may include daytime, evening, holiday, or overnight shifts based on scheduling needs to ensure 24/7 coverage. Our clients come from all different backgrounds, and so do our employees. DAIS Shelter Advocates work to ensure that victims of intimate partner violence and their children staying in our emergency shelter have a safe, dignified, and empowered experience as they work to address the impact of intimate partner violence in their lives. Shelter Advocates utilize the principles of trauma informed care and the empowerment philosophy of advocacy to support DAIS clients. Shelter Advocates help to maintain cleanliness and order in shelter common areas while engaging residents in efforts, clean and prepare rooms for new residents, assist with daily living needs, conduct shelter intakes and orientations, and communicate communal living guidelines. The Shelter Advocate role is an awake position; current coverage needs include weekdays, weekends, occasional overnights, and holidays as needed.
